As part of efforts to provide education on contemporary global issues, Global Educators for All Initiative and the Millennium Development Ambassadors have launched several initiatives to provide quality information and training.

One of such initiatives is the Basic Course in Human Rights Education for Educators through radio and via sms, launched during the 2011 General Assembly of Educators in Abuja, Nigeria to mark the 2011 United Nations Human Rights Day celebration, the course brought together 75 educators who registered to receive basic lessons on human rights via sms delivered to their cell phones.
The second batch witnessed over two hundred educators who registered for the course.

In addition, the Human Rights Education course is being offered through the radio The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) headquarters in Abuja, Nigeria has recently welcomed the Global Educators introductory course on Human Rights Education by SMS and radio as a program to raise Human Rights Educators for families, schools and communities.

The first and second groups graduated on June 28, 2012, and we are now set to expand this new initiative to reach out to more parents, teachers and leaders as well as students, youths and other activists interested in learning about human rights in order to teach others.
The University of Ilorin FM station in Kwara State has approved our Voice of Teachers radio show to provide Human Rights Education via SMS and on radio.

We are therefore commencing the third batch of the Certificate Course in Basic Human Rights Education via SMS and through Radio from mid July 2012. At the moment the course is free and the course is open to all educators in formal, non-formal and informal institutions of education as well as other professionals dedicated to the promoting and protection of human rights in families, schools and communities.
